Irina Fomina, Founder & Chairman of the Board MBG Wine, has PhD in International Economic Relations. In 1995 she founded Moscow Business Group, which includes MBG Wine and MBG Beauty; next year she signed the first import contract with a famous Italian brand Antinori. Currently, MBG Wine is one of the leading Fine Wine companies in Russia and it has a distinguished portfolio of iconic Italian brands like Antinori, Allegrini, Cusumano, Livio Felluga, Argiolas, Bisol, Col d’Orcia, Michele Chiarlo and others.
In 2005 Irina opened Cantinetta Antinori Moscow restaurant in partnership with Novikov Group and Antinori Family, one of the most famous Italian high-end restaurants in Moscow. In 2007 Irina was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Ordine al merito della Repubblica Italiana) degree Commander. The highest ranking honour of the Republic for a major contribution in the development of business and cultural co-operation between Italy and Russia. Stylish and affordable wine bars Khleb I Vino (Bread & Wine) opened in Moscow in 2014 jointly with several partners shook up the Russian HoReCa scene.
In 2019 Irina Fomina was awarded the Order of the Star of Italy (Ordine della Stella d’Italia) degree Grand Officer in acknowledgement of Italian wines and lifestyle promotion.
