Gerardo Volpone

Gerardo Volpone is Technology Strategist at Microsoft: He is responsible for providing technology guidance for digital transformation activities by elaborating industry scenarios, and acting as Trusted Technology Advisor to Italian Institutions and Entities. Gerardo is currently Coordinator and Lecturer of the “Blockchain Garage Thinking” course at LUISS Business School and has lectured on Innovation, Technology and Sustainability in several major Italian Universities.

Previously, he was Manager of EY’s Blockchain and Innovation team, globally responsible for supply chain traceability and self sovereign identity solutions. Throughout his career, Gerardo has managed several strategic and end-to-end solution implementation projects in the Government and Public Sector (for Italian and European Institutions), Consumer Product & Retail, Media and Communication, Automotive, Transportation, and Financial Services, with a particular focus on Sustainability and Innovation issues. In parallel to his professional activities, Gerardo supports his family in the wine business of Cantina PlacidoVolpone, the first winery in the world to have tracked its products using public Blockchain technology.
