Focus 2022

The focus of the 2022 Forum is Wine Communication in all its forms, from traditional – such as PR and press – to the use of social and digital mediums; from developments in education and training to the application of the most innovative new communicative tools. The wine2wine Business Forum 2022 sessions aims to provide an overview of the main trends and developments in this context, inviting speakers and the public to reflect together on what works and what doesn’t in communicating wine today, both in Italy and abroad.

In recent years, the wine industry’s choices in terms of communication and marketing have been reviewed and even revolutionized. Firstly, in response to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic; then, to adapt to the so-called new normal. New channels and methods of communication have found fertile ground and, even though they were initially considered temporary solutions, some have now been embraced as essential tools that remain valid in the medium-long term. Furthermore, strategies and tools used successfully in the past are no longer effective and must now be revised or even abandoned.

Wine Communication is a topic that affects all operators in the supply chain. Anyone who produces, sells, promotes or teaches wine must get the right message to the right audience using the right medium. For the 2022 edition, wine2wine Business Forum offers a program that will shed new light on the fascinating but complex world of wine communication, offering ideas and insights to companies and professionals as they seek to navigate the challenges and opportunities of wine communication in an increasingly modern and global context.

“Back to Basics”:

The Networking 3.0 of wine2wine BF 2022

This year, at wine2wine Business Forum, B2B will also mean “Back to Basics”: let’s rediscover in person together, embracing the basics of networking and mutual exchanges that create the ideal context for our customary “Sharing of business ideas.”

Networking – the action of creating a network of professional relationships based on mutual trust, relationships that stand the test of time – this goal has always been at the heart of wine2wine Business Forum because it is essential for any wine business operator. The 2020 pandemic tested our need to establish and strengthen relationships. Restrictions on travel and interpersonal contacts forced everyone to devise alternative ways of networking; “2.0” ways that, by necessity, have leaned mostly toward digital and remote connections. However, the time has come for us to resume our in-presence experiences, brush up on our social skills, and return, putting ourselves out there in person.

As a breakthrough initiative that will spur the wine industry to achieve this goal, wine2wine Business Forum 2022 is launching its “Networking 3.0”; a way of networking that, while not forgetting what we have learned from the recent experience with COVID-19, aims to engage each party in a more personal way. Live-interaction between speakers and participants will be possible in-person only, at the PalaExpo at Veronafiere in Verona. For this edition, there will be no apps, live-streaming or chat, and everything will be handled face-to-face. Guests will not only have to meet on site, but will also be invited to arrange appointments with each other using a special paper planner that will be given to them at the entrance.
